FDI has the potential to unlock a largely stagnant retail sector in India by bringing in huge amounts for investment in vital areas like cold storage and also strategic knowledge of foreign companies. On the other side it supposedly threatens the livelihood of many conventional mom-and-pop or Kirana stores although many Indian retail stores already exist
We want to know what Indian youth thinks about this. Does India need to allow FDI in retail or is the opposition correct in protecting the unorganized retail sector?
