A Note To Those Who Criticize Satyamev Jayate

By Sarat Chandra

I don’t think there is a need for introduction for the sensational and emotional TV show, SatyamevJayate, hosted by Aamir Khan. When I was bored, I read many articles that criticized the show. Some said that he was a 21st century crusader while others say that he is doing it for the money and publicity. This post is addressed to them. While I agree he’s our new role model, Aamir Khan deserves some money for his work. He is doing a lot of research and spending a lot of time for it. Some say that the producers of the show have used the concept of emotional response of the typical Indian to get high TRP ratings. But whatever their intentions may be, they are doing some good to the society. It is a win-win situation.

Then why not support it?  At least someone is addressing the serious problems in India by creating awareness. I don’t own to know how much good is happening out there but I do know a few things. For example, I did not know about generic medicines until I watched the show. I would say that there is some definite impact of the show. At least the media is supporting something good for everyone.

If you are someone who has no time to sit in front of the television set and think about something good then please don’t watch the show. Continue with the work you are doing for the sake of mankind. Some people mock at everything they see and seem to think ‘‘OMG!! I have a good sense of humour… Everyone loves me’’. They even mock the show which is doing well.
We don’t want what happens behind the curtains. We want what it is doing to the society which is behind the curtains in a house.

So stop wasting time by criticizing and make a contribution to the society at least by knowing about the problems. Someone may ask me how knowledge about the problems can be a contribution. Who knows? You may help someone else or face the same problem in the future. As the Season 1 of the show ended, I being a sincere blogger will definitely make another note for bloggers who write about the second season of SatyamevJayate.

P.S: This is my opinion and no one needs to agree with me.
